With a work history that includes litigation experience both in New York and in India, Nitisha provides a unique perspective to Axelrod Fingerhut & Dennis’ practice. Nitisha counsels corporate and individual clients on diverse real estate transactional and litigation issues, and civil and commercial litigation matters. Nitisha represents cooperatives and condominiums, commercial real estate developers, owners, shareholders and unit owners, landlords and tenants in a broad range of matters.
She has experience in representing clients before the Civil and Supreme Courts of New York in matters including landlord-tenant litigation, breach of contract cases, construction disputes, real estate disputes, business disputes, foreclosure and bankruptcy cases, and divorce and marital property distribution.
Nitisha has experience in all phases of litigation from drafting pleadings and conducting discovery through preparation and argument of substantive and procedural motions, conducting and defending depositions, as well as trying cases and perfecting appeals. Nitisha has settled landlord-tenant, contract and marital disputes and has also tried cases representing clients before New York courts.
Prior to joining Axelrod Fingerhut & Dennis, Nitisha worked as an Associate with another prominent New York law firm. She completed her first law degree (B.A.LL.B) with honors from one of India’s top ten law schools. While she was in law school, Nitisha interned with various law firms in India prior to being hired as an admitted attorney. After practicing in India for over two years, Nitisha attended the Georgetown University Law Center graduating with an LL.M degree and a certificate in international arbitration and dispute resolution. While attending Georgetown, she worked as a research assistant with Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. As an Associate in India, Nitisha worked with prominent law firms on various high-profile real estate, commercial, civil and criminal litigation cases in trial and appellate courts and administrative tribunals across India.
Nitisha is an avid traveler and loves trying out the variety of cuisines New York City has to offer.
